Assessments and Reference from Reading




Chapter Review Questions and Activities/Cases are subjective assessments. The Review Questions are Connect activities and Activities/Cases are scenario based Do activities.

Grammar/Mechanics Checkups and Editing Challenges are objective assessments and both Connect activities.

PowerPoint slides are providing a review of the textbook highlights and are Absorb activities.

Chapter Tests contain multiple choice, true/false, and fill in the blank and completed after each module as a measure of progress at the end of the module. The Comprehensive Test at the end of the semester measures the learner’s skill and knowledge after the completion of all assignments.

Course Proposal

The course I will be creating is OST 235. This is perfect timing as I was assigned to teach this course for the first time this fall semester. I look forward to all comments and advice.

OST 235 is Business Communication Technology for students in the KCTCS system. Pre- or co-requisites are (ENG 101 or OST 108) and OST 110.

Business Communication Technology presents aspects of communications technology used in the global business environment, including presentations software; a basic understanding of voice recognition software; planning and composition of written, oral, and electronic communications; grammar, punctuation, and spelling; and principles of proofreading, both manual and electronic.
